Maureen's Throw

Drunkard's Path Throw Pattern

Finished Size: 58" x 58"

Block Size: 14"

June 2011 Started Maureen's quilt, I skipped Brian's because I didn't have the colors "in stock" that Brian wanted, and Maureen wanted blue and I had plenty of blue from the material I got from the store going out of business. I looked for the colors Brian wanted but they didn't have orange and black in stock.

When I saw this pattern, it made me think of Maureen. The pattern I saw called it half moon, but I later learned it is also called Drunkard's Path. The reason why I chose this for Maureen is because she reminds me of Grandpa Gillespie. My best memory of Grandpa Gillespie I have was when Brad and I sat out on the front step looking at the moon with Grandpa and he would tell us stories of the man in the moon.

This was a changeling pattern because of sewing the circle, but it turned out well. I used the same blue in Colleen's quilt. I gave it to Maureen at the July 4th birthday party for Bob.
