PostDoc Position under the National Quantum Mission Project:
The Quantum Sensing and Metrology Hub, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, invites applications for one PostDoc (RA-I) position in the group of Dr. Sanjib Dey in the Department of Physics of BITS-Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus. The position is a part of the National Quantum Mission Project, focusing on cutting-edge advancements in quantum sensing and metrology. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts from leading Indian Institutions, including IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IISc, TIFR, IACS, IIT Gandhinagar, etc.
Position details:
As part of the research team, candidates will engage in pioneering theoretical work in several directions of quantum sensing and magnetometry. The position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art quantum technologies with direct application in precision measurements. The project aims to advance the field of quantum metrology, enabling new standards of measurement in various industries, including medical diagnostics, defense, and fundamental science.
Eligibility Criteria:
A PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with a proven track record in one or more of the project’s research areas (EIT, Magnetometry, Quantum Metrology, Quantum Sensing, Quantum optics, Quantum information, Quantum Computing, Quantum communication, Quantum optomechanics, Machine learning, and Neural network) is preferred.
A strong, proven track record in scientific research with published articles in SCI/Scopus journals is required. Candidates should be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with expertise in experimental techniques and computational methods, will be highly regarded.
