2023 Outstanding Associate Editor award given in recognition of high-quality contributions to the Transportation and Transit Systems section in 2022. Frontiers in Built Environment has launched its inaugural Outstanding Editor awards, to recognize the outstanding contributions of their Editorial Board members to the journal in 2022. I was selected as the recipient of this award in June 2023.
Lead CI of Australia-India collaborative research project entitled "Heavy-haul Indian Railway: Towards Safe, Efficient and Sustainable Design" along with Distinguished Prof Daichao Sheng (UTS) in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur. This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia-India Council of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the 2020/2021 grant round.

Second Professor Joseph M Sussman Best Paper Prize awarded to the most outstanding paper published within Frontiers in Built Environment - Transportation and Transit Systems in 2019. This is an annual prize, introduced in 2018 to commemorate the legacy of late Specialty Chief Editor of the section, Massachusetts Institute of Technology JR East Professor Joseph M Sussman. It is awarded by Frontiers and the Frontiers in Built Environment Chief Editors to A/Professor Yajun Jiang and Dr Sanjay Nimbalkar for their contribution entitled "Finite Element Modeling of Ballasted Rail Track Capturing Effects of Geosynthetic Inclusions" awarded in April 2020.
Australia–India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) Early- and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR) Fellowship 2020 to India to undertake a research project on ‘Sustainable Performance of Future High Speed Rail and Heavy Haul Freight Corridors: Effect of Climate Change and Mitigation Measures’ at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay awarded in November 2019.
