1. How much does it cost to join ?

For a breakdown of our membership rates, please see the dedicated page here. Our membership year begins on 1st April and runs through until 31st March.

2. Are there additional costs ?

The only additional fees are when there are specific club tournaments organised to cover the costs of running the tournament. e.g. new balls and refreshments. We also have several charity tournaments which have a small cost to enter (normally £5pp). Another small cost is to play in the team during the summer again to cover cost of new balls and refreshments for players and opposition players also.

2. Can I pay in instalments ?

We require payment for the membership up front for the whole year but if you wish to join part way through the year there will be a reduced cost on a pro rata basis.

3. Can I book a court ?

Yes ! As of Monday 22nd June 2020, Court bookings are possible..

4 When are the mix in sessions ?

In relation to availability of courts we have club mix in sessions on a Saturday and Sunday morning from 10am and Tuesday morning in the week and Wednesday from 5:30pm onwards. These sessions are for all members and all abilities. If one of the 4 courts are free you are able to play separately at that time. However if there are such numbers at the mix in session that require all 4 courts you will be requested to join in with the mix in session. On Friday afternoons from 3.30pm-5.30pm the courts are used by the juniors. At all other times the courts are free to use for whoever has booked. We very rarely have an issue with availability of courts.

5. Is equipment provided ?

To begin with if required there will be balls and a couple of rackets in the club house for your use to get you started and back into the swing of it! However if you wish to join you would need to purchase your own rackets/balls at some point in the near future as this equipment must stay in the club house and may not be available each time you wish to play.

6. Is there a dress code ?

There is no dress code, but i would advise some sort of sports wear and suitable non-marking sports trainers.

7. Can I bring a guest ?

In relation to non members/guests , we charge £5 each time they play and they need to be registered via the website each time along with confirmation of guest fee paid via bank transfer of cash. We no longer accept cheques at the club.

8. Do you offer Junior coaching ?

We provide organised junior coaching 4pm till 5:30pm every Friday starting from 26th April For registration on this, please email juniors@sandwichtennis.net for more information.

9. Do you offer Adult coaching ?

Members are able to contact our coaches direct to organise a private coaching session. For details of our coaches, please email coaching@sandwichtennis.net for information.

10. Can I try before joining ?

Yes of course, come along to one of monthly beginner/improver sessions or any mix in session, details and times can be found on the calendar page.

11. Do you have competitive tennis ?

The club is involved in Dover district leagues and enjoys hosting and travelling to clubs. For more information on this, please contact our match secretary, Phil Whittaker on enquiries@sandwichtennis.net

12. do you have Match practice nights ?

We run our mixed practice on Tuesday nights from 6pm onward , our mens practice nights are on Thursday from 6pm onward.

13. What standards do I have to be ?

For club sessions, we would prefer if you can serve and rally. If you are unsure, come along to one of our improvers sessions.

14. Do you have a Wimbledon Ballet ?

Yes we do and we encourage everyone to sign up to maximise the clubs ticket allocation. Ballot draw is done end of April.
