2nd Annual Sand Devil 5K Race

Time: 9:00 a.m.

Cost: $20 Adults, $5 for students (Pre-Registration)

$25 for everyone on race day

Pre-Registration: Ends April 23rd *T-Shirts will only be given to those who Pre-Register*

Purpose

The Sand Devil 5K was created and organized by the Page High School Business Club under the direction of Octavian Maianu (Business Instructor). The vision behind the creation of this event is to promote physical activity, community involvement, volunteering and charitable giving while providing PHS students with hands on experience in marketing, sales, operations, accounting, and event organization.

Proceeds

We, along with the community of Page, are very excited about the funds raised by this event!! We wanted the funds to go toward a worthy cause that will impact students and the larger community of Page. With that theme in mind, we would like to donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity and the remaining amount will go to the Business Club to help students attend professional development conferences. We strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to support and motivate the young people of Page, while having a great time, by participating in the 2nd Annual Sand Devil 5K!

Location

Page is a small town in northern Arizona located on the southern shores of magnificent Lake Powell. Our friendly community offers visitors outstanding recreation and a wide variety of lodging and services. Our location is ideal for exploring many of the American Southwest's renowned national parks and monuments, and discovering the unique culture of the Navajo Nation. We invite you to explore our backyard, meet our neighbors, and most importantly, enjoy the 2nd Annual Sand Devil 5K!

Race Start/Finish and Route

All participants, volunteers, and sponsors will meet at the west parking lot of Lakeview Elementary. The course will take you through the city of Page with amazing views of the surrounding canyons and beautiful Lake Powell. There is a significant elevation change from start to finish. You will mostly be running at in incline for the first half of the race and then be descending all the way to the finish. Refreshments and snacks will be provided near the finish line.

Awards

The overall top three male and female finishers will receive medals.

Medals will also be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:

19 and under

20-39

40-59

60+

Exceptions

In-line or roller skates, bicycles, skateboards, or motorized vehicles are not allowed in the race. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Please respect the rules and rights of fellow runners, walkers and children. *Note: Runners with dogs, jogging strollers, etc. will not be recognized for awards.
