I am an Assistant Professor (RTD-B) and Adjunct Professor of Political Economy in the Department for Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition (DiSSTE) at the University of Piemonte Orientale (UPO) in Vercelli, Italy.
I am a member of the UPO Commission on "Inclusion, Disability and SLD," , as well as a member of the "Research" Commission of my department. I participate in the Academic Board of the International Ph.D. Program in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine (UPO and Vrije Universiteit Brussel).
In addition, I work as a research associate at the Economic and Social Research Institute of Piedmont (IRES Piemonte) in Turin, as well as at LSA-Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan. Co-founder of Studi Randomizzati, the first italian blog on RCTs. I also teach at the Italian National School of Administration (SNA) under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in Rome.
My research primarily focuses on counterfactual impact evaluation, public policy analysis, labor and social policies, and innovation policies.
I serve as the Principal Investigator for the project "New perspectives on the nuclear issue in Italy" (NECESSITY) (2023-2025), funded by the UPO's "Bando Ricerca" (2022). I am a member of the research team for the "Preparedness for society in health crises and disasters" (PREPSHIELD) (2024-2027) project, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program.
