At various times since 1999 it has been a privilege to pursue my interest in animal welfare by serving as a volunteer with a variety of animal welfare organizations in BC. These include the Vancouver BC SPCA (dog walking); Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary (parrot care); Wildlife Rescue Association (transport of injured or sick wildlife), and the Vancouver Animal Shelter (dog walking, obedience training, fundraising). Since 2018, my spouse and I have operated Sam's Pet Care, in Trail, BC.
My education in animal care also includes completion of the Animal Welfare Certificate Program, via Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, and the St. John's Ambulance, Pet First Aid course.
In February 2018, my wife Janis jumped onboard. She brings with her decades of devoted pet ownership (feline & canine), along with volunteer experience at the Richmond BC SPCA, working with cats and rabbits, and has completed the ProPetHero First Aid Training & CPR For Pets.
