2010 ADA Standards For Accessible Design

The 2010 ADA Standards for Accessibility went into effect on March 15, 2012. You may have heard them referred to as ADAAG (Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines) or may even be familiar with the 1991 ADA Standards. We will touch on all existing access-related codes, guidelines, and regulations; but our main focus will be on the 2010 ADA Standards. This class will cover the application, scoping, and technical requirements of the 2010 ADA Standards and how it compares to other applicable state or local building codes. Whether you are in the process of evaluating your facilities for ADA compliance, planning to renovate an existing building, or preparing to design and build a brand-new public facility, this course is essential for understanding your design requirements under the ADA. Walk away with the knowledge needed to incorporate ADA compliance into your master plan.
