I am an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Reading. I am a member of the Department of Economics as well as being Research Division Lead of the cross-University Global Development Research Division.

My primary research interests lie in the area of applied microeconomics, with a focus on economics of the household, gender, social norms, and health and human capital attainment.

In particular, my current research focuses on:

• The role of gender norms in determining a wide range of behaviours

• Fertility and/or breastfeeding behaviour

• Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) - causes and consequences

• Child human capital and health

• Environmental shocks and health/human capital
