The International Children's Library is a beautiful website where children can read stories online from all over the world. You can select the language and level.
Vocabulary
Merriam-Webster's Word Central is a fun, interactive environment for daily buzzwords, rhyming dictionaries, and much more.
Vocabulary University provides many, many vocabulary activities that help students to understand word terms better. There are activities and worksheets.
E.L. Easton is a multilingual online dictionarythat is organised by topics. It also has high frequency word lists. You can learn about the different forms of English spoken around the world.
Phonics
In the Alien Scavenger Hunt the student must “zap” trash letters and letter combinations that are floating around the spacecraft to spell the word that is spoken. Uses digraphs and diphthongs.
Phonics Interactives covers vowel sounds, r-controlled words, digraphs, diphthongs, and consonant blends. Game based.
Writing and Grammar
Bright Ideas for Writing has a variety of creative writing projects; for example, writing a description, a persuasive essay, and more.
Paragraph Punch is an online writing tutor that teaches you how to write a paragraph by guiding you through step by step.
Grammar Gorillas asks you to identify parts of speech in sentences. Beginner level asks for nouns and verbs only; advanced uses eight parts of speech.
Word Invasion has you select the words that match a given part of speech.
Mathematics
Multiplication Facts Practice:
Math Trainer makes you practice a set of multiplication facts until you know them. Excellent site.
General and Number Sense:
Math Drills has printable worksheets for all operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) plus work in fractions and decimals.
The Centre for Innovation in Mathematical Teaching has a year three practice book available interactively online. It covers all areas of the math curriculum. After completing a question there is a check facility for students to correct their work.
Interactivate is a huge database of interactive math games and activities.
Gamequarium has interactive math games in all areas of math.
Measurement:
Stop the Clock asks you to read the time in analogue and match it to the digital time.
Geometry and Shape:
Y2 Shape has you guess the invisible shape.
