Camera is a Stardot NetCam SC H.264 10 Megapixel Camera
Lense: Evetar M12VD412IR 4-12mm MP Auto Iris F1.4
Resolution: 1920x1376 QFULL
Camera is mounted outside in a weatherproof enclosure. There is a simple weather sensor attached to the camera that feeds into overlay in upper left hand corner of image.
The automatic iris lens helps deal with the varying light levels. The downside is that the iris has discreet steps which can make the levels a bit jumpy, it's most noticeable at sunset and sunrise. The camera also 'blacks-out' the center of the sun when the sun is shining right in the lens, I think that's to protect the CCD i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7uYoSm4zkk
Images are captured by pulling a jpeg from the camera every 30seconds (or so)
