Co-Head Coach Naomi Kiekintveld

While Naomi has been on skis since she was very young it wasn’t a major part of her life until middle school. From there, she went on to ski 4 years at South and also for Alaska Winter Stars for 5 years. After high school she went to ski for Michigan Technological University. While at Michigan Tech she began to teach skiing at the beginner level for the Michigan Tech Ski Club and loved it. While unfortunate circumstances took her from racing she didn’t want to leave the Nordic scene. She decided to start coaching with South in 2017. Naomi has also coached for the APU Junior and Devo teams 2019-2023 and continues to travel with APU as a wax tech. She has also coached for Team Alaska at Junior Nationals and would have been a coach at Arctic Winter Games in 2020. This will be Naomi's 7th year coaching for South High, her fourth as Head Coach.

Naomi was also a recipient of the Trail to Gold Fellowship and traveled to Finland and Norway at the start of the 2022/23 season to coach on the World Cup for Team USA.
