After receiving return to research clearance:

•Only personnel cleared by ORED may use facility

No student should be required or pressured to participate in on-campus research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Graduate students may participate in on-campus research consistent with these guidelines.

Grad Student authorization for on-campus research granted as part of the Principal Investigator’s Return to Research request.

No on-campus undergrad research for summer and fall of 2020

Common sense procedures:

•Safety is a shared responsibility. Everyone needs to participate.

•Stay home as much as your responsibilities allow. For example, analyze data from home.

•Do NOT come in if you do not feel well.

•Wear a mask at all time in shared facilities, even if you are alone in the room.

•Clean your hands often and after any activity in common space (handwashing >20s or sanitizing gel).

•Sanitize all high-touch surfaces in the room BEFORE and AFTER you use shared instrumentation.

Specific to K-alpha:

•Only one person allowed in the K-alpha room at a time

•You are provided with wipes: cleaning the desk and keyboard BEFORE and AFTER use is your responsibility

•If you decide to wear gloves, use fresh ones from the K-alpha room

•Contact Sylvie Rangan for access even if you are currently a trained user

•Evidence of clearance to return to research must be shared with the facilities before access is granted.
