Xymon Clients for System z

Xymon is an open source network services monitor for Linux (previously called Hobbit).

XYMONZOS - 02/27/2009 - Updated 03/03/2009

Xymon Client for z/OS - This client is intended to perform certain tests on a z/OS system a report the results of those tests back to the Xymon server. It will report on CPU Utilization and Paging (from SDSF), CICS DSA Utilization and transaction counts, disk utilization (SPOOL [JES2 with the SDSF MAS command], disk volume utilization, and paging space utilization), MAXUSER test from the ASVT, a PORTS test (determines listeners and established connections on specific TCP/IP ports). Additional information and installation steps are indicated in the manual.

XYMONVSE - 02/27/2009

Xymon Client for z/VSE - The client is renamed to match the name change of the server and is Version 1.2 of the z/VSE client. New with this version is the ability to take advantage of new code in the server to report on information from the client (requires Xymon V4.3), a CICS test (checks the DSA Utilization and tracks the number of transactions), a GETVIS test (tracks the utilization of partition and SVA GETVIS), a memory test (tracks the utilization of total system memory). Additional changes are indicated in the manual.

XYMONZVM - 02/27/2009 - Updated 03/03/2009

Xymon Client for z/VM - The client is renamed to match the name change of the server and is Version 1.3 of the z/VM client. New with this version is the ability to take advantage of new code in the server to report on information from the client (requires Xymon V4.3), a FILE test (checks for the existance of a file on a minidisk or SFS/BFS filepool), a PORTS test (determines listeners and established connections on specific TCP/IP ports), the disk test is now reported in Linux df format which is more compatible with what Xymon is relying on for graphing, and a TCP/IP interface traffic graph is also generated. Additional changes are indicated in the manual.
