PhD position
We are looking for a suitable PhD candidate to cover a 4-year PhD position (Formación de Personal Investigador, FPI) in the field of computational glycobiology. The fellowship is funded by the Spanish Minsitry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU). The successful candidate will apply state-of-the-art computational methods to model enzymatic reactions and glycan-protein interactions. She/he will develop new algorithms and use them to analyze simulation data, aiding in drug discovery. The project will be conducted in collaboration with leading experimental groups in chemical biology and structural biology. The QSBio group is looking for candidates that would like to embark in a PhD in computaional glycobiology, in collaboration with leading research groups in Europe. Cross-disciplinary aptitude, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a keen interest in collaborative research. Prior expericence in MD simulations of protein-ligand complexes will be a must.

Mobility rule: the candidate cannot have resided or carry out their main activity (e.g. reside, work, studies) in Spain for more than 12 months during the last three years immediately prior to the application deadline.
Candidates should be in the first four years of their research careers upon the starting date of their appointment to a PhD position (full-time equivalent research experience, measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree entitling him or her to embark on a doctorate) and have not been awarded a doctoral (PhD) degree.
Candidates should be in possession of a Master degree that fits the research area of this position, OR be able to obtain such a Master degree by the time of recruitment.
