My name is Lida Heyden and I started my love for animals as a child and my first ever dog was a border collie which "ran away" when we moved to the farm but I suspect he caught my grandfathers sheep. I then got a pomeranian which died of old age and I was not allowed any more pets. I used to bath the yorkies of a breeder in the holidays just so I could work with them and she ended up giving me one of her New Foundlanders which had a problem with his tail. I loved that dog with all my heart but he was shot close to the house one night while we were out - we suspect the it was intruders. Me and my hubby then rescued a poodle of sorts but his main aim was to dodge me at the gait to go run the streets all day and I was constantly in trouble about him. After he passed I rescued a rough collie but he herded the kids in a corner and nipped them so had to take him back. I then rescued a Cocker spaniel and a doberman but lost both in 1 week - doberman had cancer and the cocker spaniel was 14 . I then adopted Sha-Sha from the local SPCA and fell in love with this awesome breed. After intensive training and competing with her I realized that she had a problem and she was diagnosed with third degree hip dysplasia in her one hip. I then bought a beautifull unregistered male from a friend but he died of a heart problem (cardiac myopathy) at 4 months of age. So that is when I decided to only buy top quality dogs from healthy stock that has been x-rayed for hip dysplasia and where I can study the pedigree to see the hip and elbow scores of the whole family tree as well as any working or show accomplishments. After a 9 month search and looking at close to 70 puppies I got Hitler (my profile picture dog). He not only lived to 11 years of age but was an amazing working dog yet had an incredibly stable temperament and never sick. He did the Telkom add, Nissan add, SL Magazine add, Mailsafe add, appeared in Egoli and in Josi Streets and also in a top design magazine. He took on intruders on 3 different occasions that came into my yard and house. He truly was the ultimate rottweiler. When breeding I would like to give every person a pup that is just like Hitler-

On my long journey with this breed I discovered that few people knew what a true rottweiler should be. They are amazing companions but needs a strong hand and lots of love and attention. There is truly no other breed like the rottweiler and once you had one, you will always own one because they steal your soul.... Because every household have different needs we evaluate each pup and try and match it to your family... but sometimes the dog choses you... that is of course the best possible match.
Our goal is to produce sound Rottweilers that has correct conformation, excellent temperament, good bone, substance and excellent heads. They should posses a strong working ability, but above all excellent health and longevity.

QUALIFICATIONS
I have been training rottweilers since 1995 with my initial work being with the East Rand dog unit learning about teaching dogs tracking, protection work and house penetrations. I competed in SAWDOS trials with both my rottweilers and was part of the civilian team called "Paws of Perfection" for the SAWDOS nationals. I competed in KUSA obedience trials, IPO and ITT with my rottweilers and qualified. In the meantime I have learned so many other methods and done seminars with Bernard Flinks and Oliver Neubrand. I have been running my dog school KDA Dog Academy since 1995. I also finished my ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR COURSE in animal Ethology with Prof Odendaal in February 2004. I also did Close Quarter Combat training - some of it involving doing work with our dogs. Dogs have always and will always be my passion

AND HAD SEVERAL DOGS WITH PERFECT SCORES
WHAT IS HIP DYSPLASIA - THE SYMPTOMS, CAUSES AND TREATMENTS
A VET CAN NOT DETERMINE IF A DOG HAS HIP AND ELBOW DYSPLASIA WITHOUT X-RAYS
IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE HD/ED CERTIFICATE THEN ASSUME PARENTS POSSIBLY HAVE IT
CHECK THE HD/ED SCORES OF ALL DOGS IN THE PEDIGREE ON THE KUSA REGISTRATION PAPERS
SEVERE HD/ED CAN BE FIXED BY REMOVING PART OF THE BONE = DOGS MOVEMENT WILL BE COMPROMISED BUT IT WILL BE ABLE TO WALK AND RUN WITHOUT PAIN - THESE OPERATIONS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE BUT ONLY ALTERNATIVE TO EUTHANASIA

ANY DOG WITH GRADE BELOW C2 MAY NOT BE BRED
