Bio

I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Given that my parents are Italian, I am a sort of genetically Italian and environmentally Venezuelan. Surely, I don't need to say anything about Italy (beautiful places, history, wonderful food... Who doesn't know that?). No many people know that Venezuela has wonderful natural treasures and a delicious cuisine. If you would like to know something else about my country, click here.

I am 1st Gen, daughter of immigrants, and an immigrant myself.

I have shared my life with Eladio Marquez since 1996. We married in 1999. Eladio is also a Biologist; he got his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan EEB Department. He is a bioinformatician and works in the pharmaceutical industry. We have two human children, Samuel and Veronica, and two cat children: Ollie and Milo.

I inherited my love for music from my dad and my movie passion from my mom. I also love outdoor activities and traveling. My motto is to visit at least one place where I have never been before every year.

I am curious and a life-long learner. I am fascinated by different cultures, their costumes, food, and history. I have a very broad palate, but my mom's food has a very special place in my heart. Reading has become challenging since I became a mom, but thanks to Audible my public library I can enjoy "reading" again. I also like to listen to podcasts, specially The Moth, Throughline and Hidden Brain. I am a big fan of graphic novels as well.
