TitanPad is a great site because I could set a password on the project I created rather than a password to use the site at all. This way, students can access the project without creating an account, but their information is not open to the public. This site is a great collaborative writing tool. Students can work simultaneously on a writing project. Each author’s text is highlighted in a different color as they type. In addition to the main text box, students have a chat box in the lower corner so they can discuss ideas. There are easy-to-use editing tools, and the project can be exported to a variety of formats. I think, for those of us who don’t have Google access, this is a great way for students to work collectively on a writing piece. If you click on the above image, you will see a project I created for students to brainstorm, using text evidence, character traits for the main character in our novel. After creating this list together, students will be able to use this document in creating a character analysis essay. Students will be able to collaborate on ideas, text evidence, and make comments and suggestions to add to the conversation. Click on the image to see an example project.
