A noble family from Braga, Portugal, whose recent ancestors lived mainly in the regions of Entre-Douro-e-Minho and Galicia. According to the nobility annals,[1] the Rodrigues de Araújo lineage descends from the reigning monarchies of the first and second millennia AD: the Artsruni, Amorian (Phrygian), Bagratuni, Balti, Burgundian, Capetian, Carolingian, Jiménez and Íñiguez, Merovingian, and Ottonian Dynasties.
The head of the family is Carlos Faria de Araújo, Fidalgo de Cota de Armas[2] ( a hereditary title of Portuguese nobility), born in 1933.
He married Dona Maria Elisa Ferreira Rodrigues de Araújo, on 17th August 1958.[3] They had seven daughters:
