Key Club International is part of the Kiwanis International group of service organizations, and is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. The first Key Club was established in Sacramento High School in California in 1925, a time during which adults were concerned with the detrimental nature of high school fraternities. Key Club became a wholesome and rewarding replacement for high school students committed to making a change in their community. Presently, Key Club International includes 33 formal districts, over 4,800 paid clubs, and more than 255,000 members. This world-renowned organization has helped millions of citizens through large-scale initiatives that have allowed communities to overcome severe issues such as food shortages, hospital supply scarcities, and impoverished conditions among families.
