My Profile
With my Celestron 8i SD 8" ( before my Observatory was built over it)
I took up the hobby of Astronomy in 2004 with a ETX90 Telescope and a Sony Digital Camera. My first image was to take the 2004 Eclipse of the Sun by just holding the Camera over the Eyepiece of the Telescope and clicking. I tried the same with the transit of Venus ( see image ) I Started imaging more seriously two years ago after purchasing a Celestron 8iSD, 8" SCT Telescope, Canon 350D Camera and an Atik 16IC S CCD. My deep sky images are mainly taken with my latest telescope a Sky Watcher 80mm and the Planets mainly with the 8". I was invited as a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society during 2009 proposed by Sir Patrick Moore and in August 2010 the new Adur Astronomical Society was formed. later to be reformed as Sussex Practical Astronomers, meeting at Clayton for practical astronomy . I have the pleasure of being the Hon.Chairman. Our Hon. President was the late Sir Patrick Moore
