  • GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT ENROLLMENT: Priority enrollment for business majors is roughly the first two weeks of enrollment. This includes Certificate in Business students and international students who have been admitted to the WSB. Then open enrollment begins and other UW students across campus may enroll. If you are a VISP/guest student, you must wait until the first day of the semester to enroll. Fill in the "Business Course Permission Form" available at https://bus.wisc.edu/bba/mybiz/academics/forms and bring it to class on the first day (the form must be signed by Professor Robatto). There is typically a large demand for FIN 320 taught by Professor Robatto and thus there is no guarantee that VISP/guest students will be able to enroll.

  • PREREQUISITES FOR UW-MADISON STUDENTS

    • ECON/FINANCE 300

    • MATH 213, or 222, or 276

    • GEN BUS 307, or ACT SCI 654, or ECON 410, or MATH/STAT 310, or STAT 312 or 333 (or concurrent enrollment).

    • MOST COMMON PREREQUISITES ISSUES:

1. UW students who have taken courses elsewhere the previous semester: It typically takes a semester for the courses students have taken at other schools to get added to their UW records. The student should be able to show they have taken the course with a transcript.

2. Visiting/Guest students: These students have no UW record so they aren’t able to enroll in any courses without permission. They should have a transcript from their home school to show which courses they have taken previously.

3. Students who actually are missing prerequisites: Please note that it is department policy to strictly enforce prerequisites for business undergraduates. Some exceptions are occasionally made for graduate students or undergraduates from other schools.

4. IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE GB 307 (or equivalent) PREREQUISITE: Please note that concurrent enrollment in GB 307 or equivalent (such as Business Analytics II) is sufficient to meet this prerequisite.

Econ 203 - Elements of Economic Analysis IV (Intermediate Macro, Honors)

In the fall of 2011 and in the spring of 2014, I taught the Honors section of Elements of Economic Analysis 4 (Intermediate Macroeconomics), the final course in the Undergraduate Economics Core at the University of Chicago. On this page, I make available some of the lecture notes I used for the class. Additional materials are available on chalk.
