As of April 2016, I am on a 3 year rotation to Sao Paulo, Brazil as an ARO Program Manager for Advanced Computing. Under this new International and Inter-disciplinary position I will be seeking researchers under the auspices of my topic of Advanced Computing within South America doing novel research of relevance to the Army. This is a new position in Brazil for the Army and a new topic in all of South America for the Army.

I have return rights to my prior position at the Army Research Laboratory where I was leading research in basic science related to cyber security and intrusion detection. I am a subject matter expert in cyber security and intrusion detection related issues and provide input and presentations in these domains.

Specialties: Research and development in computer security, digital forensics, computer graphics, visualization, and human cognition. Including situational awareness, intrusion and attack detection, and technology transfer.

I am a subject matter expert in cyber security and intrusion detection related issues and provide input and presentations in these domains. Previously I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Utah State University. I have  over 90 publications in my research areas. In keeping with my research interests in computer security and visualization I spent the summers of 2004 through 2006 at AFRL's Rome Labs developing visualization for intrusion detection techniques for the air force under their summer faculty fellowship program. I received my BS in Computer Science from The University of Lowell in 1991 and my MS and ScD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in 1993 and 1998, respectively. My Doctorate was earned under Prof. Georges Grinstein.
