We enjoy listening to your ideas and discussing how to meet them
-- the customer does not have to initiate designs. We then work
together toward a design that you like at a reasonable cost.

OUR STORY:
This blacksmith discovered his real calling when his partner Rae gave him a forge for
one Christmas and also much appreciated aesthetic guidance. During his working life he
taught and researched internationally as a professor of electrical engineering.

The book details an extensive study of principles of spring hammers as used by blacksmiths, leading to a wealth of data useful for design. The orientation is to provide useful guidance for those who want to develop their own machine. The results of the novel and extensive simulations should simplify the selection of components, and facilitate the making of an efficient, economical and easily controllable machine. The results are distilled into key steps and recommendations for designing. Then, as an example, the book presents key aspects of a particular hammer that was designed using the results of the study. This example is used to discuss points that called for special attention rather than being a complete design specification.
