Raised in Puyallup WA, Pro Guide Rob Sweem grew up fishing the local rivers of the Cowlitz, Nisqually, and Chehalis rivers. The rivers have changed over the years, but the love for catching these stunning Steelhead and Salmon has not.
Beyond Fishing, Rob enjoys hunting Elk with his longbow.
Rob is married and has 5 daughters.

TESTIMONIALS:
Rob Sweem has been my fishing guide for over five years. I find him very professional, and extremely conscientious. He knows the rivers, as well as what type of gear and bait is needed. He has great patience and a willingness to teach you.
Rob, is a very true outdoorsman. He is very willing to share his knowledge regarding, fishing and the rivers. While on the river, he shares with you his knowledge of your surroundings, and teaches about different fish, etc.
I know that when you fish with Rob, you will walk away with a new appreciation for the rivers and the great outdoors.
Sincerely,
Gary J. Engelhart
Just wanted to say thanks for the great fishing trip yesterday. You are a good teacher and good company; the wealth of knowledge you freely shared took some serious time off my learning curve. You are truly a master of your profession.
This was simply a great day and I can’t remember money better spent.
I had a great time and learned a ton. Even if we had not caught five Steelhead I would have been happy. I could not have asked for a better day on the river and will do it again soon.
Thanks for a priceless day.

In my 37 years I have been blessed with my fair share of fortune and luck. However doggedly, I have never caught a fish on a river after 25 years of trying. My brother had to bring that fact to light almost immediately upon getting on the water. Rob simply smiled and confidently said “We’re going to change that”. Rob Sweem delivered and delivered big! Not only did I catch my first ever river fish, I caught an absolutely beautiful King Salmon. Rob worked hard to ensure we left with fish. I appreciate his perseverance and ultimately his patience in coaching me to reel that beauty in.

My father and nephew traveled from Moab, UT to visit me this past week and wanted to go fishing. I knew the best way to give them what the Northwest has to offer was to take them Steelhead fishing. I read several steelhead reports and knew the steelhead fishing was going to be a challenge. The most current Cowlitz fishing report showed 57 shore anglers with 1 hatchery steelhead and 21 boat anglers with 7 hatchery steelhead. I knew that if I chose a fishing guide from steelheaduniversity.com I would be getting one of the best fishing guides the Northwest has to offer. I decided to go with Rob Sweem of R&K Guide Service. I made a good decision and we had 6 strong takedowns and got 4 steelhead to the boat. This was my father's and nephew's first time steelhead fishing and will be one of their most memorable.
