What's all this I hear about "the Grid"?
You've climbed all 35 peaks over 3,500 feet in the Catskills......and then you climbed them all in Winter.
You have your Catskill 3500 Club and your Winter 35'er patches, but you keep on hiking. What's next?
The Catskill 420 Grid is a challenge for the frequent Catskill hiker. You'll need to climb each of the 35 peaks in each of the twelve months of the year. That's right, that's 420 climbs. 35 X 12 = 420.

Each hiking season presents new challenges and opportunities.
Why not hike a full round of the Catskill High Peaks this season? Start with the tougher bushwhacks and leave the fun trail hikes with awesome views for the finish. Or maybe just mix them up? Try some new peak combinations, all the while whittling your list down to the finish before the season ends.
The Single Season 35'R series are hiking milestones you can earn over and over. Each new season is a new beginning.

Maybe you think that the 420 climbs needed to complete the Catskill 420 Grid is out of your reach. Well, then you might be interested in the Catskill High Peaks 4 Seasons patch. To earn this patch you'll climb each of the 35 peaks in each of the four seasons. You may already have done them in winter and earned your Winter 35'er patch. Why ignore Spring, Summer and Fall? To earn this patch, you'll have a minimum of 140 climbs. 35 X 4 = 140.
You can think of the Catskill High Peaks 4 Seasons patch as an entry level challenge on the way to the Catskill 420 Grid. Or maybe it's Grid-Lite. Either way, get out there and enjoy hiking in the Catskills.
