Ripe Next Door is a small, organic, urban farm on the edge of La Mesa & San Diego. Cadence and Elaine, daughter and mother, came across their dream property in 2008. After a two year search, they found what they were looking for...    
a lovely house with a nice-sized terraced yard where they could grow whatever their hearts desired. 

The farm is based on the idea of regenerative farming, sometimes referred to as permaculture or sustainable agriculture. Since purchasing the property, they worked to naturally build the organic matter and improve biodiversity above and below the soil. This, in turn, results in water retention and carbon sequestering that helps to reverse the effects of climate change.
