Creator of Site: United Nations World Food Programme

Description: This website and app is designed as a type of flash card game that allows the player to learn English Vocabulary and Grammar as well as other languages and subjects. It is free and plays ads which produce a revenue that the WFP (World Food Programme) uses to help feed people in need around the world. I recommend Free Rice as it is a free, interactive way to learn vocabulary and grammar. I also recommend it as playing and learning on it allows the UN to help others.

Owl & Mouse

Description: Owl & Mouse is a free and interactive resource for helping children learn how to read. The games and software available open right on your screen and help teach everything from alphabet shapes to how to spell and recognize words. I recommend this website as it is easy-to-use, free, and requires no downloads.

Description: Bookshare is a website that provides free books to approved students with visual, reading, and physical disabilities affecting their ability to read. Bookshare also provides these books to U.S. schools and is supported by the U.S. Department of Education. I recommend Bookshare as it provides a variety of popular children's series as well as textbooks and leisure books.

Description: Starfall is a website that provides some free resources to help students learn reading and other subjects from PreK to the 3rd Grade. Memberships and optional paid services are available that provide programs to expand reading knowledge for all student's including ELL's. I recommend this website as it provides both free and paid for services that help facilitate student learning in a bright and interactive manner.
