In Memory. In Honor. In Unity.

When I was 8 years old, I believed two things with absolute certainty: America was the greatest country on earth and my Uncle “Pickle Face” (otherwise known as Sergeant Wheeler) was one of its greatest heroes.

He served in the Air Force, traveled the world, and every time he came home, he brought me treasures from faraway places. To an 8-year-old girl, that was magic. Those gifts filled me with pride for my uncle, for our military,                and for the country he served.

So naturally, I decided our little town needed to show a little more patriotism too. Since I lived next door to the local fire barn, I marched myself into the Village Council and requested money for paint. Then I rounded up a couple girlfriends, and together we got to work painting those big doors red, white, and blue. I’m sure there were no permits involved,   but there was plenty of spirit.

Fast forward to 2011. I was a little older, maybe a little wiser, but no less patriotic. I was looking for a way to give back while celebrating two things I have always loved: bicycles and the USA. By then, my son was attending United States Naval Academy, following in the footsteps of my two nephews and his grandfather, who landed on Normandy Beach on Day 3 of Operation Overlord.

When I couldn’t find the kind of ride I was looking for I created one.

And so, Ride for Warriors was born.

Over the years, I’ve met some incredible people. Together, we’ve supported veterans, honored service, and built something far bigger than a bike ride. We built a community.

Now, 2026 marks our 15th anniversary. And let’s just say we are planning something special. Something bold. Something worth rallying around.

I hope you’ll be a part of the REVOLUTION.
