Program Requirements
Requirements: To start teaching in Rhode Island public schools, you need to receive the Alternate Route Preliminary Certificate (ARPC), and be admitted to the alternate route training program in partnership between Teach For America-Rhode Island and Rhode Island College.
To enroll in the program:
Selection as a Corps Member by Teach For America and assignment to Rhode Island
Including 3.0 GPA, required pass scores on PRAXIS II for Elementary Multiple Subjects (5001) or PRAXIS II Secondary Content Knowledge (Biology; Chemistry; English Language, Literature, Composition; General Science; Mathematics; Physics.) .
Successful completion of TFA Summer Pre-Service Training Institute
Completion of an online application with Rhode Island College for Individualized Master's (IMEd) in Education

Selection of individualized master's program
Acknowledgement that TFA-RI has agreed to provide each of the following for your application:
Your resume
One copy of all official transcripts of each undergraduate and graduate record.
One copy of an official transcript from Delta State if you are completing the IMEd.
Two professional references
