Albert Lea Athletic Hall of Fame
The Albert Lea Athletic Hall of Fame was formed in 2010 for the purpose of acknowledging outstanding athletes, coaches, and state championship teams that have made significant historical contributions to the athletic program at Albert Lea High School. Through the fund raising efforts of the Hall of Fame, money raised will go from the Albert Lea Education Foundation (non-profit 501-3C corporation) to Albert Lea High School sports program for the sole purpose of lowering student participation fees across all sports.
The Albert Lea Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the 2011 Hall of Fame Schedule. This year we will be inducting 5-10 inductees depending on qualifications of the nominees. We encourage you to nominate athletes or coaches that you believe match the selection criteria. We also strongly encourage you to attend this year’s banquet, and 4-person best shot (scramble) golf tournament. We also ask you to spread the word to your friends that are ALHS grads to attend as well. Last year the Hall of Fame contributed over $8,000 to Albert Lea High School sports programs.
Our featured speaker this year will be Craig Dahl. Craig was a standout athlete at ALHS graduating in 1971. He was the NCAA Division I men’s head hockey coach at St. Cloud State University for 19 years, retiring in 2005 to enter private business.
