Useful Guide When Analyzing Data

  1. Write down the questions you want to answer.

  2. Rank questions in #1 according to importance.

  3. Determine how the questions can be answered given the data.

    1. It helps to establish first what the parameters in the data represent.

    2. Are there questions that cannot be answered with just the current data? If yes, why is the current data insufficient? What could be further supplied to answer these questions?

  4. Answer the questions one-by-one (except of course, those unanswerable) according to method given in #3.

    1. Don't forget to write down your answers to the questions.

    2. Optionally, you can write down a brief description of the supporting evidence or important observations that lead to the answer.

  5. Write down if there are other problems with the data.

  6. Write down if there are other noteworthy observations.
