Asheville, NC National Convention

Rho State hosted the 68th Kappa Kappa Iota National Convention June 18-23, 2017. We met at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Asheville, NC. Kathy Gordon, along with her sidekick Earlene Davis, served as Chairman. Lynn McNeilly was in charge of registration. These Kappas worked long hours tirelessly to ensure success. We welcomed 234 Kappa members, 41 Kappa Guys, 9 Guests, 2 Kappa Kids, and 1 Campus Kappa, for a grand total of 287 attendees. From the meals, receptions, tours, workshops, and the final banquet, North Carolina was in charge of a huge, successful convention. We send a grateful YEAH VERILY to Kathy, Earlene, and Lynn! A grand total of $4822.33 was returned to National Headquarters after all expenses were paid, the most of the past few years!

This convention could not have been held without the cooperation of all ten of our chapters. As Kathy Gordon states, "Thank you for entrusting me with the Convention Chair position. It was an honor to serve Kappa in this way. My Rho State sisters were behind me every step of the way. It truly did take a village, a village filled with special ladies dressed in purple tee shirts." They didn't think twice before giving their time, materials, talents, and support to Kathy and Earlene. Our Blockbuster Convention was a culmination of a year's hard work.
