Jan Marcus

Welcome to my webpage. My name is Jan Marcus and I am an assistant professor for economics and econometrics at the University of Hamburg and a senior researcher at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). Currently, I am a guest professor for Applied Statistics at Free University in Berlin.

My research focuses on empirical questions in the areas of health and education economics, with a particular focus on the evaluation of specific policies - including the introduction (and abolishment) of tuition fees, the G8-reform to compress instruction time, voucher programs for sports-club memberships, and a late-night ban on alcohol sales.
