Jan Marcus
Welcome to my webpage! I'm Jan Marcus, a Professor of Applied Statistics at Freie Universität Berlin.
My research revolves around applying and advancing statistical and econometric methods to identify causal effects. I am particularly interested in empirical questions within health and education economics, focusing on the evaluation of key policies. These include, for instance, the introduction of tuition fees, the G8 school reform (which shortened secondary education), voucher programs for sports club memberships, and late-night alcohol sales bans.
I am also actively engaged in research aimed at improving the scientific process through replication and reproducibility, with a particular focus on the importance of replication code.
