Frequently asked questions
Everyone! The Repair Café is open to all, because beyond being a place where you fix things, it is also a friendly place to meet people, learn and share knowledge.
Our Repair Café is held every second Sunday of the month, from 14 to 18. Given the success of some workshops, registration may be closed early.
There are also other Repair Cafés in Brussels and in Belgium.
It's totally free! The organisers and experts working at the Repair Café are all volunteers. The organisational costs and management are funded by donations collected during the event.
Any help is always welcome to organise our workshops; visit our support page to see how you can help.
During our sessions we have different repair workshops for various items such as electronics, clothing or bicycles. More information on the various workshops in our advice to prepare your visit (fr).
We cannot guarantee that, it depends on the diagnosis that will be made by our experts. And they're not always the same from one session to another, as each has their own area of expertise. But in practice, most objects are usually repaired during the sessions. More information on the various workshops during our session in our advice to prepare your visit (fr).
No, the Repair Café opens at 14h and visitors are invited to the workshop tables in the order of their arrival. Since queues can sometimes be long for some workshops, we may need to stop registration earlier in the afternoon.
The Repair Café does not provide that servcice. All experts at the Repair Café are volunteers and only commit for the session on-site. The idea is to fix together as a team. Therefore, visitors are invited to bring their object during a session.
Given the success of the Repair Café, and not to penalise the other visitors, we only allow one item per person upon arrival. However, after you have queued and tried to fix your object in a workshop, you can register again with another object.
