Regina McAllen retired from Howell High School on July 1, 2021, following a 28-year career in music education. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Southern Queensland, where her research focuses on excellence and well-being among female Broadway performers.
Her publications include “Warming Up the Choir: Bridging the Domains of Singing Voice Pedagogy and Voice Science” in Choral Journal; “Exploring Female Broadway Performers’ Experiences of Singing in Mix” in Voice and Speech Review; “Psychological Well-being in Elite Performance: Exploring Female Broadway Singers’ Experiences Through Self-Determination Theory” in Music & Science; and “‘What You Did with Your Time on the Earth’: Interpreting Well-being Through the Found Poetry of a Broadway Performer” in Arts & Health.
