Red Rock Threshers Tractor Pull Saturday, June 7
The Red Rock Threshers club was started in the early 1970s by a group of 5 men in Pella, Iowa, who enjoyed old tractors and farming equipment and wanted to share them with others. They started out meeting in the basement of the Pella Legion Hall on the first Thursday night of the month and the club grew from there. They began to host a tractor pull in Pella and even built their own tractor pulling sled which is still being used today. They would have a threshing day and invite everyone to come out and watch the steam engines and threshing machines. As the years went by the club has gotten bigger and over 120 members come from several towns which include Pella, Sully, Oskaloosa, Monroe, Prairie City, Newton just to name a few. They still meet on the first Thursday of the month. There is still a tractor pull the first weekend in June and a tractor ride has been added the last several years the third Friday and Saturday of July.
