Business, Art, and the Wall Street Crisis
Rutgers Business School has been proudly hosting a special art exhibit by Jan Lourie in the 1 Washington Park lobby. Inspired by the collapse of Lehman Brothers and subsequent Wall Street meltdown five years ago, the artist expresses the American and global predicament through verse and images.
We celebrate the show with a seminar at 1 Washington Park in Newark, Tuesday, November 19th, from 2:00 to 4:30 PM.
The artist Jan Lourie and business school professors Nancy DiTomaso, Farrokh Langdana, James Abruzzo, Wayne Eastman, and Lee Papayanopoulos will ponder the artistic, philosophical and social ramifications of these historic events.
About the artist: Jan wears many mantles of creativity. She is an artist, poet, photographer, and technologist who employs dozens of computers to express her work on diverse contemporary media. Jan is no stranger to the corporate sector or to RBS. Before retiring from IBM, she pioneered computer methods in textile design and manufacturing and received IBM’s first software patent. Her previous show at RBS was co-sponsored by Dana Library in 2008.
