How to mix colours
The three primary colours: red, yellow, blue.
They can be mixed to produce the twelve colours in the colour wheel:
cool colours mainly on the right above,
warm colours mainly on the left above.
Any three adjoining segments 'sit well together '( analogous harmony)
Colours that are directly opposite add wow to a picture ( complementary harmony).
HUE. This is the name of the colour such as red, orange, purple.
SATURATION. This is the vividness of the colour. Reduce saturation by adding a small amount of its opposite on the colour wheel.
TONE This is how light or dark the colour is. Adjust it by adding small amounts of either white, grey or black.
