Research Interest

The widespread application of materials science has given tremendous impetus for research on the synthesis and characterization of novel materials in single crystal and polycrystalline forms. The requirement of synthesizing and characterizing novel materials with promising properties for future applications or enrichment of science is an enormous challenge and opportunity. We have been working on this direction and making our contribution to this ever growing field.

The topics of my research interest are:

1. Structure and physical properties of Low dimensional (spin-chain) compounds

2. Structure property correlations in magnetic intermetallic (binary, ternary) compounds

3. Materials for Device applications (colossal magneto-resistance, thermoelectric, magnetocaloric etc)

4. Physical properties of rare-earth and transition metal containing double perovskite compounds.

5. Superconductivity in mixed oxide materials
