How to speak to Cortana

To start, check that Cortana knows your language English (UK) this may require a download of the English (uk) data.

Click the circle in the left of the task bar and speak.

Speak clearly and slower than your normal speech.

Many of the requests end up as a search in Bing on the default browser but Cortana does know a few action words

Take Open Play Get

For example :-

"Take a note" opens Onenote

"Open Calendar"

"Open Edge"

"Open Internet Explorer"

"Open Google Chrome"

"Open Guide" but be careful, one of the options is Uninstall

"Open [app] "

"Play Music"

"Get Weather" or "Find Weather"

"Get time UTC" or "Find time UTC" or "Time GMT"
