I am an Assistant Professor in the Division of Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations (Business Economics) at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.
I am an applied microeconomist working in political economy, behavioral economics, and organizational economics. I use microeconomic theory, laboratory experiments, and large-scale field data to study how information choice, preferences, and institutional rules shape behavior.
My research examines how political identity shapes information choice and persuasion, how bargaining institutions distribute power and resources, and when people act generously toward competitors. Current projects include a theoretical study of political communication when citizens choose their own information sources, and an empirical study of costly prosocial behavior using millions of decisions on an online chess platform.
I am on parental leave in Fall 2026.
