Current projects (2023):
"Nanomotors, molecular motors and related topics: Intrinsic mechanisms in the nanoscale."
The main goal of this project is the theoretical study of different mechanisms of action of nanomotors and molecular machines that are intrinsic to the nanoscale. As can be seen in the specialized literature, the study of nanomotors and molecular machines has undergone an enormous and rapid advance in recent years, driven by surprising experimental results and various novel theoretical proposals. However, this is an area in which few groups are currently working at the local level. On the other hand, one can note that most of the proposals, both experimental and theoretical, are based on the same physical principles that drive machines and motors in the macroscopic world. It is, therefore, interesting to incorporate this new topic into the local sphere but from a perspective that aims to go beyond traditional approaches. In particular, we will focus on quantum effects in nanomotors driven by electric currents and related systems based on quantum pumping. Moreover, we will also address the near-field effects present when external radiation sources illuminate self-propelled nanoparticles.
