With the Smart Grids lab @ ULiège, we are happy to contribute to the SHINES project, funded by Interreg North-West Europe. 

Showcasing Hydrokinetic Energy Innovations for Northwest European Energy Sovereignty:  SHINES focuses on a powerful yet untapped natural force: tidal and river currents. This project, co-funded by the European Union through Interreg NEW, will test three innovative technologies in real-world conditions on offshore test sites in France and Netherlands, with a clear goal: to prove that hydrokinetic energy can play a key role in Europe’s energy transition. Beyond demonstration, SHINES will identify and de-risk the most promising sites in each partner country, working hand in hand with local stakeholders to pave the way for the large-scale deployment of hydrokinetic solutions.
