Unit 1 problems
Review Assignment set: This is a set of problems that involve making unit conversions, and dimensional analysis style questions. You will not be tested on these, but they are here because I bothered to answer these questions one day.
Chapter 1: Page 16-18
Questions: 1, 2, 9, 15, 18, General Problems: #36, 44, 49, 51.
Assignment set #1: These are vector problems. Quiz is scheduled for Monday August 29, 2011.
Chapter 3: Pages 65-66
Questions: #1, 2, 4, 7 (do not waste your time doing part c), 8, 10, 13.

Extra Problem #1: Note: this is a conceptual question.
An airplane makes a straight back-and-forth round trip, always at the same air speed, between two cities. If it encounters a mild steady tailwind going, and the same steady headwind returning, will the round trip take more, less, or the same as no wind?
Extra Problem #2:
When the 10km/hr bikes are 20km apart, a bee begins flying from one wheel to the other at a steady speed of 30 km/hr. When it gets to the wheel, it abruptly turns around and flies back to touch the first wheel, then turns around and keeps repeating the back-and-forth trip until the bikes meet, and “Splat!!”
How many kilometers did the bee travel in its total back-and-forth trips?
