2. Watch this video on 19th Century Ideologies. It will summarize some of what your learned yesterday. If you don't understand the following you will struggle during the quarter. There will likely not be a day we don't use these terms in class. Classical Liberalism, Conservationism, Liberalism, Socialism, Romanticism. These are incredibly important to master! The 19th century is a century of ideologies.
3. Review an old unit, snow days are perfect for this. Find a video or lecture and get moving. 120 days until the exam!

Snow Day Assignment 1/20

1. Watch the Tom Richey video below on 19th century isms and fill out the graphic organizer also linked below. When I found this video I thought it was perfect for us at the moment. If you can't print the graphic organizer, just copy it down on a piece of notebook paper. Bring to class tomorrow for an open note quiz. Don't forget about the DBQ due Friday as well.

Snow Day 1/21
1. Complete the following reading and "watching" quiz. It covers up to page 600 in today's reading, and material from yesterdays video assignment. Quiz is here. Due by Midnight
2. New due date for the DBQ will be Tuesday 1/26.
There have been some questions about Document 1 on the DBQ. Doc 1 is referring to the "Rotton Boroughs". See the text on p. 608. The first part of the chart states that there were: 1-100 electors for 77 borough seats. In other words, for 77 seats in the House of commons, there were less than 100 eligible voters electing them.
3. Attached below is the Short Answer Qs for this unit. These will be due next Wednesday.
Snowpocalypse 1/22
1. Please read this article. This is an excellent interpretation of the driving forces behind the Congress System, the Holy Alliance, and the strange situation of the Ottoman Empire. It contains excellent contextualization, evidence, and synthesis. If you are still struggling with the concept of the Congress System, watch the Tom Richey video below before you read it. Be prepared to see this article on a future assessment.
2. Review something today. Trust me, time will be short when the exam gets closer and these are the days you will regret later if you don't review.

Snow Days 2/17
The snow has interrupted our quest to master European history, but I won't allow it to hurt your chances to strive for a 5 on the exam. Below is critical updated information on dates and assignments.
1. The test scheduled for this past Tuesday will be completed next Monday (2/23)
2. The reading calendar has been updated and altered for our new calendar dates. You should read the chapter on Imperialism today. The date for the Unit 12 test has been changed to 3/5 and we will have an essay portion of the test on 3/6.
3. There will be an open book (yes you read that correctly) reading quiz on the chapter 21 on Imperialism. You can find the quiz here, and it needs to be completed by Sunday (2/22). There are fill in the blank questions, make sure you spell correctly!
4. If you have not reviewed during these days off you will likely regret it. Your future self (sitting in a room taking an important test on May 8) is yelling at you. So GET TO WORK!

Snow and Ice Fest 2/25 (Updated 2/25)
Below is critical updated information on dates and assignments.
1. The next unit test will be completed the evening of the day we return to school. I highly encourage you to complete the study guide for this test and the next.
2. Keep up to date on reading. I will give you a firm date on the Imperialism, WWI, and Russian Revolution test when we return, but my goal is to finish it before break.
3. I will not be covering imperialism in class due to time constraints. Therefore, in lieu of our essay test, I am giving you a take home essay, and it is due on Tuesday March 3rd. There are slightly different guidelines for this FRQ since it is to be completed outside of class.
Guidlines:
A. You must cite evidence from the textbook. Please cite similar to a DBQ ex. (Merriman p.425).
- I expect a minimum of 9 pieces of evidence with citations.
B. You are permitted to type this essay, and if you turn it in via email by 11pm today (Feb 25), you will be rewarded with 5 extra credit points
Question: Analyze the colonial policies of France, Germany, and Great Britain, in Africa 1871-1914
