Club Championship 2026

Tournament Rules

The format for the 2026 season's Club Championship is the following:

• There shall be 2 Divisions with a 5 round all play all schedule. 

• Games shall be played with a clock; the rate of play shall be all moves in 75 minutes with a 15 second increment added for each move played from the start of the game. Please note that for this small increment, when a player has less than 5 minutes left on their clock it is no longer required to keep score, even if the increment subsequently takes the player back above 5 minutes. Other appropriate time limits may be used with the agreement of both players and the controller.

• To encourage games to be played, the first tie-break to be used shall be the "3-2-1" scoring system: three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a draw, one for a loss and none for an unplayed game.

• The results of all games shall be submitted for ECF rating. If a player plays less than 30% of their games then their results shall not count for the final tables (but games played will still be rated.)

The pairings for each round are shown here, refer to the Calendar of Events  for the schedule. The closing date for entries is 29/04/26 - any entries after this date may be accepted at the tournament controller's discretion.
