The Dutch maths teacher Max Euwe is the only amateur to have ever won the World Championship. He beat Alekhine to claim the title in 1935 but relinquished it in the 1937 rematch.

This is a single round event involving five teams. The average grade of each team should not exceed 155 in each match.
The top two teams shall qualify for the semi-final K.O. stage.
Third Team, En Passant Cup
This is a single round event involving five teams. The average grade of each team should not exceed 140 in each match.
The top two teams shall qualify for the semi-final K.O. stage.
