Lucien DeCastellan was born to Tristan DeCastellan (Cthulu) in the Capital of the Old Kingdom. Though his life was one of comfort, it was also one of pain and abuse. Tristan constantly expected perfection from Lucien and pushed him hard. On the occasion that Lucien would fail to meet Tristan's expectations, physical and mental abuse would follow, typically in the form of a beating and several days in the dungeons.

Despite this, Lucien was well educated, as was insisted by his father He also has a high proficiency in the art of combat and tactics. Spending most of his days being educated in one manner or another, there was little room left for a real childhood. Lucien never truly knew his mother. She was a woman of noble birth to be sure, but not important enough for Tristan to pay her any more attention than was absolutely needed. Thus, because Tristan saw her as unimportant, she was a "distraction" and had very little contact with Lucien.

Because of the abuse, Lucien learned to despise his father, and before the war he sought ways to dethrone him even then. Little did Lucien know that Tristan's (Cthulu)only purpose for Lucien was as a replacement body for him so he could continue to rule.

Once his father was destroyed, Lucien joined the armies of Bahmut and fought to free Raehelm from Chaos. For his efforts, Lucien was granted one of the Ten Kingdoms of Men. Though, due to his heritage, many don't entirely trust him, believing that some of the chaos of his father passed to him.
